The normal things clear eyes, mouth, and nostrils. Ask to take the animal out and make sure it is not lethargic or having any problems breathing. Look over it’s body and make sure there are no parasites, missing toes, or stuck shed. If it is the only gecko in the cage you may want to glance at it’s stools to make sure they are solid and healthy looking. Otherwise use your best judgment. Cresties are active animals so he/she should be attentive and a bit jumpy.
