I know one thing, they definatly are my favorite herp. I also have a savannah monitor (which i also love) but nothing compares to cresteds. They have great personalities and they are beutiful. They also are decently sized and extremely hardy, unlike some other cool geckos that are small and fragile. They are definatly a good gecko, whether experianced or not

:Yes, I agree with mike. They are very handleable, and are very easy to care for. They are much different than other reptiles in that they can't tolerate high heat. Where your monitors require hot spots of about like 140, cresties like it a cool 82. That's a big difference. I love the cresties, in fact, they are probably my favorite(although the aurics are really cool!). Ask anyone in this forum how much they like cresties and they will say they are their fav of one of their favs. And they aren't just for begginners. They've been called the geckos of the future. With them being polymorphic(you don't know which phase will come out of an egg even if the adults are the same) people find that interesting and new. Just imagine waiting for that egg to hatch to see what comes out! So if you're just a begginner or you are more advanced, these can fit anywhere in between.

::All the Rhacs are pretty much handable, although the cresties are the best. They would make a great first time gecko for you. However they are very different from your boids and monitors but if you are an experienced reptile keeper, their care should be cake. Beware though, once you get one your going to want more….hhehe
