:I put a human heat pad against one wall of my Crestie tank with the Cork Bark leaning kitty corner against that wall so they can sit on the wall and be hidden behind the bark, or be in front of it or above it if they don't care about being hidden. The Crickets all flock to that side of the tank too and hang out on the cork bark making for an easy hunting area. The Cresties do like the warm wall. I was thinking of switching out my flourescent for an incandescent now that its gotten colder since my basement temps have dropped to the low 60s (better for my brumating snakes and collareds finally). I don't have live plants so don't need the flourescent like you do. Did you give your old Crestie tank to the Gargoyles? All my critters say Merry Christmas to all your Critters!
I was thiking of doing the same thing with a very low heat raident panel on the outside just to warm the the glass a little. In my 55 gal display I use a CHE they last longer than bulbs (going on 2 years) but for now I am using an incanndescent black bulb. It did raise the top temp but the cresteds are as far away from it as possible.
Yes my old crestie tank will be my gargoyle tank when they get a little bigger.
Merry Xmas to all your critters and family.
