Use 1.1. I have used both incubation materials with not problems (never lost an egg). It is very easy to make vermiculite to moist however. Eggs also tend to mold much easier, since it compacts so easy and does not allow any airflow under the eggs. Perlite is the better choice IMO. When the granules start clumping together you know you have enough water. An even better choice is ceramic granules, which I have been using for about 2 years. It is the easiest thing to use, just add water till they change color and clump together, and you’re done. You can find the stuff at most home garden centers that sell ponds, because it is an aquatic soil. All this stuff is in my guide if you have it.
