but the trained eye can verify it a few days sooner. After the 8 days candle the eggs by using a small flashlight. If you see a pinkish glow (new blood vessels forming on the yolk and inner membrane of the shell) then the egg is fertile. If it is a yellow glow, the egg is infertile. However never throw an egg out even if it glows yellow. Wait until it is covered in mold and all shriveled up. You never know the egg might just hatch =)
