few questions about a new cresty

I just got my first cresty yestrday and had a few questions. He looks really healthy but there seem to be a few markings on his nose. Are these normal markings or damage from nose rubbing the glass? Also at night I can hear him jumping or falling,do cresties get hurt from these falls or is it normal for them to jump all night. He has a 40 gallon tall which is heavily planted. I'm new to geckos and have kept and bred blue-tongued skinks all my life, any help would be most apreciated.
