:5 gallons is a bit big for a hatchling. You want to look at something much smaller. We use the smallest size critter keepers (pic above), which you can find at any pet store. They make them in a variety of sizes, and as our babies grow we move them up to the next size accordingly. If the cage is too large they will have a harder time finding their food and water source (cause crix love to hide). And if it’s to small it will obviously stress them out. So you need to find the happy medium.
:We wait till our animals are at LEAST 2 months old before we consider selling them. However it’s usually 3-4 months. This way they are feeding like monsters and well started.
