I'm worried...

My new crested who is prolly a hatchling has a piece of what looks like old shed skin on his tail. It's on the very tip, where it's usually sticky and helps in climbing and stuff. It doesn't seem to bother him much, but should I risk it and pull it off? Or just hope it comes off by itself? It's really dry and crusty looking.
