I use little cheap digital thermometers from radio shack. If you catch them on sale they are like only 15 bucks. I have a temp gun also, but i rely on the thermometers more. I do not have any ones with humidity guages, but they are readily available. I recently saw one that had two wireless probes. Now that would be kewl, set up one in each cage and have the main unit some where in your house so you always no what the temps are =).
