I use dirt with a layer of moss on top in all my enclosures, both for hatchlings and adults.
In bigger enclosures I found that it is better to mix in some repti-bark or similar substrate in the dirt to allow better drainage.

:What substrates are okay to use? I have bags of repti-bark, so can I use that? I'm probably going to end up using paper towels, but I want to know what you use when you breed and your female's gravid.
