In Reply to: How many cresteds could I keep in a 28 QT Rubbermaid? posted by gwright86 on November 30, 2002 at 17:15:54:

28q is totally inadequate for any arboreal gecko. They may be fine for leopard geckos, but not crested geckos or any other rhac. Arboreal geckos need height room in addition to floor space. The larger 58L (15.5 gallons) Rubbermaids however will suit 1 adult crested gecko without any problems. We house each one of our adult animals in this manner. Young animals can be kept in smaller plastic containers or critter keepers, which you can find at most pet stores. If you do choose Rubbermaid containers, make sure enough ventilation is provided to prevent any medical problems that could arise from a damp and stuffy cage. Please do a little more research on housing these animals, they may be easy to keep but they still have basic requirements that have to be met.
