::First of all that is great that you adopted an animal from someone who was taking care of it improperly. We saved a day gecko over the summer. Poor girl had her first shed stuck on her for two weeks! We honestly thought she was going to loose all her toes, however we managed to save all of them except one. She is doing absolutely great now, eating and growing fast =)

::As for your crested gecko, as long as he is eating he should put on weight fast and be just fine. However if he is going to reach full size is another matter altogether. At two years of age he should be around 8”, so he was obviously deprived of proper husbandry techniques by his previous owner. Your really just going to have to wait and see if he gets any bigger. However being stunted should not affect his life span, and it might not even affect his breeding ability. For now though get his weight up and give him a year or so to see if he grows a bit, before even attempting breeding.
