:While UV certainly can't hurt, i do not believe it is necessary. The only real reason to have it is for the live plants, other wise your crested geckos will do just fine with the rooms ambient light. Also since you are using a loose substrate I highly recommend a bowl when feeding your geckos. This will prevent the crix from hiding, and the accidental ingestion of substrate while feeding. Otherwise enjoy your new crested geckos, but beware its an addiction =).
