Curious about Crested babies and feeding

I have a pair of babies that i haven't seen eat since i've had them (about a month). They seem content and happy and i see fecal matter around cage. My question is are they secretive eaters? i leave crix and baby food but as you know the food often looks the same way as when i put it in there. This is my first pair and i think they are pretty interesting creatures...
