What is temperaure range in the gecko's cage (light on, light off)? don't spray him so often. If you have a screened cage, you will never raise the humidity for very long. Once a day is more than enough. I spray my gecko's every couple of days. Move his food back to where he was eating it. What is he like when you take him out of the cage? Is he active?

:We have had him for a couple of weeks now and he appears very inactive. At first I thought he was just settling in but he doesn't seem to be showing any signs of improvement. He has a hide at the bottom of his tank and he just sits in it day and night. If I put babyfood right outside his hide he will take it but last night I put it in a different spot and this morning it hadn't been touched. He is never out climbing. He doesn't seem to like crickets very much. He has eaten a few over the past 2 weeks. I have a couple of questions:

:1. At the moment we have a red light to provide heat as its quite cold where I live. I am wondering if he's getting stressed because he isn't getting a good clear day/night cycle. All my other reptiles have basking lights which are on for 12 hours a day. Its quite dark in the mornings and gets dark very early in the evenings now and I'm wondering if he's confused.

:2. In his tank there are a couple of branches and plants for him to climb, but he never seems to, and a couple of hiding spots. Its quite plainly decorated and I'm wondering if I add more plants and make the tank a bit more "hidden" if this would help.

:3. I spray his tank down well a couple of times a day but never seem to get the humidity past about 40-50%. Could this also be causing him stress.

:Any help would be grately appreciated. I have ordered some more plants and things for him but if anyone has any other suggestions I would welcome them. I'm really worried about my poor wee guy.

:Jen
