Garrick,
I keep my guys either 1.1 or 1.2 for a few months then seperate them. I know this gives me alot more cages to maintain, but I feel there is less competition for resources and less stress, however thats just me...=). This past season all of my females laid between 14 and 16 eggs.

As far as the leachies go, im not sure. But i hope to get a group of them in the near future =)
