I use a red 50 watt spot on my Cresteds. They are in a screened cage with lots of ventalation so they will not overheat. They love the heat. Every morning they are all around it. To get your crested to grow, they need heat to digest their food. If they don't eat alot, they will not grow alot. If you want to breed - feed.
