Sugar is actually made of sucrose, which comes from sugar cane or sugar beets. It is the principle product of plant photosynthesis and is made up of 1 five-carbon ring of fructose and 1 six-carbon ring of glucose. Fructose as the name suggests is mainly found in fruits, but glucose is too as the two are closely associated. However in biological systems it is the six-carbon ring sugars(glucose) that is the most important. Glucose is the easiest substance to derive energy from.

Honey contains alot of fructose and glucose, including some enzymes. It is beneficial to add every once in awhile not to just your gravid females but to growing hatchlings and all Rhacs or day geckos regardless of age for that matter. Bee pollen or flower pollen is also a supplement that should be used along with honey, it has tons of nutrients and provides lots of energy. Flower pollen is also something they prob come across frequently in the wild.

Anyway the point is not to exclude honey just don't use it excessively. It is a good source of nutrients along with bee pollen to be used with all your Rhacs not just breeding animals. Just add a little into a jar of baby food, stir and serve. They will love it, and its good for them to!
