Kris, here are the pics you requested I post. These are two 8'L x 30"D x 24"H cages I got last June. The bottom cage has castors attached. You can see a 72x28x18 Vision to the far right that I've had since '97. In comparing the two models, there is little comparison. It's like comparing a Kia to a Hummer. If all you want (or need) is a basic, no nonsense cage, then definitely go with a Vision. It's lightweight, looks good and will get the job done for a fraction of the cost of a Habitat cage. But if money (and time - it took 6 weeks to build them and 2 weeks to ship to Fairbanks, Alaska) is not an issue, then go with HS.

The capacity to customize anything you want is what sets HS cages apart. Here is a misting system I had installed. Notice that the hose comes into the cage from the side but is not visible in the above pic. It is doubled walled which makes the cage much more insulated and better for heat, humidity and odor containment. I have it set to mist once a day for one minute (11:00 a.m.) and twice a day (11:00 a.m. and p.m.) during shed cycles.

The heat panels are 150w that are digitally thermostatically controlled to 85 degrees daytime and 75 degrees nighttime. The lights are also timed to 13hrs on 11hrs off.

The divider is great to keep snakes separated during feeding and then to open for communal living. The big burm has the bottom cage to herself. I paid around $3400 for the two cages (and $500 for shipping). I could have bought 7 or 8 Visions for that amount but when I decided to invest in an extremely rare purple phase albino retic (and a Bob Clark supertiger), I wanted the best caging available. In my opinion Habitat Systems is just that. Hope this helps.

Take Care,
Kevin Lankford
