The stories are blatantly exaggerated. I've heard of burms and retics escaping and eating pets, killing small children, but never eating a human. Some do happen, I regretfully admit, but not nearly as often nor as horrendous as people claim.

:Have you ever heard of a retic getting out of its enclosure and killing/eating the family cat/dog/neighbor...? Just curious.
