:The male has been "trying" to mate (they do the dance all the time) for about 2 years. Now that I think about it, I don't see them do the mating dance as much anymore. Maybe the female is pissed cause she isn't getting any...Actually, I don't even know for sure how to tell the sex of a RES? Does anyone know a way to tell? Someone told me that males have long claws and females have short claws.

:
::i dont know if a change in diet would be the problem.... i've never heard of it before...
::was the male trying to mate and the female disagreed and a fight started? Was the biting angry-type or could it have been mating, i don't think RES bite when they mate...

the same thing happened to my turtles. one is a male and another is a female. yes the male is the one with long claw and should be smaller. i dunno - i think they mated before and the female is pissed cuz she is pregnanat? i have no idea, but my female is very agreesive now while the male is really quiet. :/
