::My fiance has a friend who owns some turtles, yellow bellies among them. He has one that he says is a red ear, now, I am no turtle expert by ANY means, but I wasn't completely convinced that the turtle is in fact a red ear. Any thought?

:Looks like a yellow bellied slider to me. or at the very least a YBS morph. Definitely not a straight up RES. RES don't have the yellow zigzag pattern on the face like that but YBS do.

Most certainly not a red ear but rather a yellow or cumberland slider as they are commonly called...
