I wouldn't worry about it, it looks to me like your RES is shedding its scutes. It's scary, but in a month or two, hopefully your RES will have a new and shiney scutes on its back. Just don't try to peel them off or anything, let nature take its course or you can actually cause serious harm to your RES.
