RES will usually try to hide so he could have ran into a corner, or buried himself in the soil.

:My RES ran away! I left him in my yard yesterday hanging around a tree for a few minutes (very irresponsible of me) and the next thing i know he's gone! can he survive on his own? i'm so afraid he'll a) starve b) get dehydrated c) freeze to death at night (30-40 degrees F) d) get eaten by something or e) get run over by a lawn mower. can he make it out there wandering around backyards? is there any possibility of him being intelligent enough to return?

:i just want to know he might be safe, i love him so! i feel awful.
