i have gravel in all my tanks, in my turtle tank i have an undergravel filter plate but no filter under the gravel, i use a gravel cleaner to clean it, but i stir it up everyday so that the surface waste can be caught by the filter, my turtles dont make much mess, they're small, but i use to have a larger turtle without gravel in his tank and it always looked disgusting. The asthetic problem is that all the waste sits on the bottom of the tank and when senor tortugita swims, so does the stuff on the bottem. Thus the water looks eternally cloudy and nasty.

::By the way, have you named you little one yet?

:Thanks for all the help! I haven't named him yet, BUT! ha ha, i have gotten a lot of really funny suggestions!! I posted them on my turtle page :)
