I am no expert but I think this is pretty normal, I have to feed my three separately because they used to get in fights over reptomin sticks ~ they would grab onto each other's bottom jaws and I would notice purple bruise-like-things a few hours later.

:I went to the pet store and bought a new basking lamp for my turtles because it went out and I decided to get some fish while I was there as a treat. I've got 2 RES and they like small goldfish a lot. So just to be different I bought 9 small and 1 large. This was the first time I'd ever bought a large before and when I put the fish in the tank the turtles went crazy over it. My female caught it in her mouth with the fish sideways, and then my male came a ripped off its head and tail while she had it in her mouth! Then held the rest of the fish in their mouth's, one turtle on each end and wrestled with it. Finally my female kicked off the male and ate it in 3 bites.

:Is this sort of aggression over food normal? I've had my 2 RES for quite a while and I've never seen them fight like that over food.
