Turtle not eating properly

All of a sudden, Sebastien the turtle decided he didnt want food anymore... well at least what im feeding him. (pellets, vegies, etc.) I havent seen him poop either and the two times he nearly did, it got sucked up his tail again. Is he badly constipated? Tummy trouble? Simply fussy? I've tried offering everything I can think of, but he just turns up his nose and swims away. He's also been basking a lot more... last time he did that, it was coz he had a cold.
About a month ago, my housemates decided it would be fun to feed him mealworms (his favorite) everytime thay passed his tank so could his rejection of food be out of protein overload or is he wanting mealworms? (I havent given him any recently because i think it's too much protein and therefore not good for him)
This has been going on for about 3 weeks and he's only eaten a few times, and not much at that.
Help!!
