One tip that is posted on here quite often is to make sure your turt is in a separate container to eat. I usually just scoop some of their water into a traveling container for lizards (wal-mart special) then put the turts in there to eat.. this way you can make sure they are eating and, since they usually deficate not long after eating you will see that too. And a HUGE advantage to this is that you can dump the ICKY water and put fresh in the tank and keep your filter from having to work so hard. I find this to be a wonderfull tip. Good luck!
