I have noticed that when I have my turtle out, not in water, he won't eat, he will just grab the carrot or whatever and run around like he is crazy. But as soon as I put him in water, he will dip his head under the water and eat the food. Soo...based on my amazing observation abilities, am I correct in assuming they NEED to be in water to eat? It must help them swallow? Just curious......
