:I agree ...you could have a metabolic imbalance in your RES.. How long are your lights on a day? I would also remove the substrate that your turtle is burying in. You need to be able to see her. Give me a more detailed routine for your turtle right now and before hibernation..
Well we got her in the fall over a year ago. She was fine. She would swim every day and when winter came she hibernated. Then she woke up about April and would spend almost her entire day in the water; she did everything fine: eating, pooping, etc. She'd bask on this little tunnel log that I put in for her to sleep on, and she didn't sleep at all. Then she went back to sleep, under the log, and now she won't wake up. I got rid of the log figuring if she didn't have anything to sit under she'd wake, but now she just buries in the bark. So am I supposed to get completely rid of the bark? Is it okay for her to be floating in the water 24/7? Doesn't she need something to sit on. I mean, when I wake her and put her in the water she'll eat a pellet or two and poops every now and then, but she just ends up going to back to bed. :-/ I'm worried.
