:Occasionally, I've seen my turtle snap his jaws too but not regularly. He'll do it like 3 times in a row click click click. As long as your turtle is not gasping (leaving his mouth open to breath), has mucous phlegm runny nose then there is nothing to worry about...who knows we may have stumbled onto a secret turtle language...remember as captive animals they don't have the ideal environment to act as they would in the wild...(I'm saying this cuz a long time iguana keeper visited wild iguanas in Central America and was shocked to seem them jump from tree to tree something they can never do even in the roomiest cages)

::My RES has been making some weird clicking noises lately. I saw him do it with his mouth. Does anyone know why my turtle is doing this or has anyone else's ever done this?

Simple: Turtle morse code. This is how adult and juvenille turtles in the wild tell others where they are and who's territory it is...Also aids males to locate females ready to mate...
