So what does my RES do? She sleeps! All she does is sleep! And if I wake her up and put her into the water with a few food pellets, she'll eat the pellets (but only when I'm not looking)and poop every now and then, and then crawls out of the pool and buries herself under the bark again. I'm getting really frustrated!!!!!! ARG! Can someone help? Should I just go really desperate and toss all the bark and just keep her in a huge container of water for the rest of her life? Isn't she supposed to have land somewhere?
Are you sure it's hibernating? My RES don't come out of the water all winter, unless there is a warm spell then they will bask. I have a land area for them too. I'd get a check up with a vet that knows turts.
