ok........one end screws onto the sink faucet or hose spicket thing. Its a "Y" joint kind of. It has an end that hangs down from the sink that you turn either right or left depending if your filling or emptying the tank. Then there is a long hose that has a larger plastic tube on the end. Just before the tube there is another 'joint' in the hose that has a switch so you can turn the water off and on without having to walk all the way to the sink. Ok....the wide tube at the end of the hose goes in the aquarium and if you turn on the water on in the sink and turn the thing to empty, then it sucks out the water from the tank. The water running in the sink makes a vacuum type deal although you don't have to run it the whole time. So anyhow, the tube is in the tank, and there is just enough pressure sucking out the water that it sucks up the gravel a little ways too in to the plactic tube and cleans that but doesn't suck it up enough so that it will go into the hose. When you are filling the tank, you just switch it to fill on the joint at the sink and poof.....water goes through the hose into your tank. I know all that probably sounded confusing......i'll see about getting a pic of it k? But trust me, if i could figure it out, anyone can!!
