my baby sliders love the small pinkish-white salad shrimp. the kind that's about half an inch long. it comes pre-cooked and the frozen stuff is the best because they stay individual and easy to feed just one or two at a time. thawed goes bad too soon and if you try to freeze it once it's thawed it turns into a brick. you can get a pound for under $2.00. dont feed them too much at a time . keep them hungry with less food and more feedings otherwise they get spoiled and dont eat it all. right now we have little bugs hatching out. especially little winged ants. my baby red ears love them and they are easy to catch in large quantities. they also like little worms. remember the law of supply and demand when feeding if you dont want uneaten food in yourturtle tank. good luck !
