::smiles:: i was scared of the exact same thing! i'm glad i'm not the only one who's a little over protective of their turts! My basking area has holes through out it and i found that the turtles firgured out what they could fit through safely and what they couldn't. No problems. They really like the holes though; they are good hiding places for them. They think they're all stelth in there like no one can see them.....hehe
