Hi, live feeding is illegal? really? Why on earth? Are there laws regulating how feeder animals are killed? If the concern is humane treatment, snakes perform the task quicker and more humanely then most methods used by people. At any rate I have kept these snakes for several years and found that they are very visually stimulated by the movement of the frog. You can try tossing the dead frog around like its jumping until they go for it, or you can use the quick substitute method. Which is to introduce a live tethered animal to stimulate the snakes and then toss a dead one in as you pull out the tethered one. Personally I would just pull the shades and feed live. Mine will go for a flopping goldfish sometimes if they are really hungry.
