:Years ago I recall coming across a nest of without exagaration, a couple of hundred Garter snakes. They were bunched together in groups of 25 or more over an area of maybe 10 yards square. Anyway, I started bagging them as fast as I could grab them. In the priocess I must have been bitten 50 times. No problem at the time. I just did want I always did and washed the bite areas when I was finished. However, that night I recall being ill witha terrible headache and a little redness and itching on my hand where I was bitten many times. After a couple of asphrins The headach was worst and then I had a little nauseau. I eventually went to sleep and the next morning Iwas find except for a fewscratches on the hand. I never thought anything off it until recently where I am reading that Garder snakes as well as Ringnect snakes may produce a form of venom. I know they are not rear fanged snakes, but the question is, Could the episode I described have been caused by some sort of mild venom?? Just curious, I know what a bite from a Pigmy Rattler feels like and this was completely different. Thanks for any response.
