Nick,

I have a large cage made of 12mm plie sealed with boat-varnish. (65x65x120cm, wxlxh)The doors are made of wood with a glas window inside. I will place pics in rear-fang fotogallery for you. These animals need lots of cover so a small ficus in my opinion is not enough. I have got three large plants in my enclosure, i dont know exactly what kind, but it doesn't really matter. Take light green plants. The snakes are able to camouflage better. Substrate is not important. They are seldom found on the floor. I use watever I can obtain. At the moment I use white sand also used in avaries. Its easy to pick out poop and can be vacumed out, and replaced. For temp control I use a 100W red bulb for heat connected to a termostat and a UV light on a timer. I think UV can be important for Vinesnakes. I dont have proof of it, but I try to replicate nature as much as possible. I have done well so far.
good luck,
