Well, I got my FWC feeding on unsented mice now, but now have a nw problem. Im afraid he might have RI. Im not sure right now, since ive never heard of FWCs catchng RI. In he past couple days, I have noticed him opening his mouth every once in a while to breathe. When he does it, he only keeps it open just long enough for one breath, he doesnt sit there for long period of time breathing through his mouth. Sometimes he makes a faint whistling sound when he breathes, and twitches sometimes too, like he's sneezing or trying to force air through. Also, just the other day I fed him 2 fuzzy mice (hes about 20 inches long), after he was done, he started wheezing when he breathed for about 10 minutes. I checked inside his mouth today, and I didnt see any excessive mucus built up inside, like what is usualy associated wth RI. The last time he shed, a couple weeks ago, he had some trouble at first, so i think some of the old skin might still be stuck around his nostrils. Could this cause breathing problems? I have him on cypress mulch, do you think this could be upsetting his respiratory system? I dont think so, since i have a cal. king and a blood python using the same substrate and theyve shown no problems. I have his cage right by a window, so do you think a lot of dust might be getting inside and bothering him? None of the caresheets I have read say anything about misting FWCs, but do you think I should do it anyway? Thanks in advance for any help!
