Hello,

I'm glad to see that people are enjoying the pictures (of both the Beaked Snake and the GTPs!). I spoke with my boss (one of the owners of the East Bay Vivarium) and he told me that the venom in Beaked Snakes is equivalent to the venom of False Water Cobras and if a Beaked Snake were to bite and latch on and chew on you, then you would be in quite a bit of pain (depending on how allergic you are to the toxin).

As for it being the same snake that Steve Irwin caught...I have no idea...I didn't see that episode, so maybe? Her eyes are all black and she has solid big round pupils. If I ever find a male and even better yet, ever produce babies, I'll definitely post pics!

Thanks,
Celia
