Howdy!
I acquired two Russians in August of 2002, a male and female. They are both great snakes, the best I have ever cared for and I find them to be very inquisitive, gentle and have never nipped at me. I have read that they are semi-arboreal but my two like to be off the ground as much as on the ground, and spend a great deal of time climbing around the branches and vines I have in their house. If you like snakes that are not aggressive and prone to strike out, this is a great snake to care for. They also seem to like the cooler climate here in Utah so their setup is extremely easy to maintain.
I have taken some pics of them but I don't have a digital camera, so I use my 35mm. As soon as I get the pics developed and figure out how to place a pic here I will post some.
Glad you are thinking about Russians and good luck to you whichever snake you get.
Scott
