My husband and I hatched out two black racers last august. The one we kept is now 30 inches long and 3/4 of an inch in diameter (in his center). Is this a good size for him to be at this age. We are now feeding him two hoppers per week. Is this adequate for a racer of his age? For a treat every few weeks he gets tree frogs (not bull frogs - he is a bit picky), and lizards. I am very new to the whole reptile for a pet thing, so please forgive anything that sounds really ignorant. I have read that racers are not good pets but Cartman (aptly named for his appetite - he tried to eat his sibbling) is very calm and is easy to be handled. We would also like some ideas on a new setup for him. I heard racers didn't like to climb but he loves his tree, and I also heard racers didn't like to swim but he loved the bathtub ( don't ask). So I thought he would like a more diverse setup. Any ideas would be very apprecieated. One more thing, how long will it take for him to be full grown? Thank you!
