Hello gang,
Has anyone here had any experience in field herping in West Central Florida?
I'm asking because several of the racers I caught or examined in the Tampa Bay area ( Coluber constricto priapus) showed some strange colors. I had one juvenile that looked a lot like a 'Glades racer. It was blue-gray & greenish cast. At first, I thought it was near molt, but later it didn't. It was released a week after capture. In later years, I noticed some other variants on black with white chin & red eyes.
Anyone else?
Ciao,
Matt.
