: Agreed. They do not make good corn-snake-type pets. My small adult Speckled Racer seems non-typical in that I CAN grab him bare-handed and instead of biting, he thrashes violently until I get him close to the head with a second hand. Then its as if he says, "OK, game's over" and lays calmly in my hand until his cage cleaning is through. On the other hand, my Southern black-racer-from-hell was difficult to handle even with welders gloves on! 25 to 30 hard bites during a normal 10-minute cage cleaning was average. Both were wild-caught yearlings. Enjoy them in the cage, not as a handle-able pet IMHO.
