Count your blessings. The last southern black racer I had was straight from hell. Acted like he was jet propelled, never stopped moving, ate like a starving wolf and was as close to completely unhandle-able as I've ever seen for a half-grown snake.I finally gave him to a breeder in PA. Tried to put him in a shipping bag and he bit me 5 or 6 times & shot back out of the bag like he was under 100psi pressure. Twice! Good luck with your shy guy- J Deryke
