About to ship up some WC Eastern Coachwhips and Black racers. I know that it may be trouble. Cos of them not doing well in captivity, not feeding etc. But I've also heard stories with good endings and would like to now of any tips of aclimating them.
I plan to put them into appropriate-sized tupperwares and maybe a 33gal tank (depending on their size). I would place them away from areas of traffic and maybe cover the 3 sides of the tank leaving only one open panel. Then maybe after 4-6 days, I'll try feeding them, starting with mice first, then if it doesn't work, to scented mice. If stil no feeding then I'll feed other live prey like lizards or something.
Does anyone see a problem with this plan? Any hints? Any specific traits or common problems with these species? Pls help asap as I'm gonna be getting them end of next week hopefully.
I already know about the other aspects of general husbandry but wanna know if there's anything extra I should look out for.
THanks in advance guys.
