I forgot to mention that it is thought that Thyaminase
can be destroyed by warming the fish to 80 degrees F.
for 5 minutes. This may be so, but there are reports
of captive garter snakes dying with Thyamine deficiency
like symptoms even when fed a diet consisting of
live fish that were kept at 80 degrees F.
Let us know how the 'switching' goes.
