: I am thinking about getting a black racer. Will it stop biting me and make a safe pet? Is there any thing special I should know about keeping it besides its habitat, temperature and food?

Racers in general do not make good pets they tend to be real active and agressive. Sometimes one will tame enough to make a good pet. Kings or corns are better pet snakes.
