I live in West Michigan...creek running thru property. Found 2 blue racers tangled up in some flower trellis netting I advadvertantly left down there. 1 was dead, apparently strangled. The other, barely alive. Cut it loose and it came around pretty well, but some of it's scales are pretty banged up. Wondering if I should use some topical antiseptic or something on the damaged scales. Advice, anyone?
I feel like a 6 foot, 180 lb. piece of dog crap right now. Should have seen something like this coming. Been in this house 5 years and have yet to see any snakes...and I've looked. Makes me feel terrible to know I had a hand in this other snake's demise. Help me make sure the survivor makes it?
