Your question might get more results on the field collection forum. Black Racers cross into just about every type of habitat in your locale and you should have some within a few miles. Problem is that when you want one, you cannot find them. When you are just out for fun, they show up. Spend time hiking trails, looking in trash piles, road cruizing, and when the spring is in full swing you should run across them for sure. Babies are often found and look nothing like the parents, so if you get a baby it is better to raise one then to condition an adult. Good Luck.
